METEORA Things To Know Before Going | Travel Guide 2023

Visiting Meteora was a travel bucket list item for us. We found that there wasn't a huge amount of helpful information online about it though, so we made this video to help other travelers by sharing our experience, tips and showing what it's like at this incredible place.

🚆 We purchased our Athens to Kalambaka/Kalampaka (direct) train tickets online from Hellenic Train:

🕤 Meteora Monasteries Opening Hours

🚌 Meteora Bus Route & Tips
▸ KALAMPAKA to METEORA
Kalampaka Bus Station - Hotel Divani - Town Hall Square - Campaing Vrachos - Kastraki - Camping The Cave - St Nicholas Anapafsas - Roussanou - Varlaam - Great Meteoron - Holy Trinity - St Stephen.

▸ METEORA to KALAMPAKA
St Stephen - Holy Trinity - Varlaam - Great Meteoron - Roussanou - St Nicholas Anapafsas - Camping The Cave - Kastraki - Campaing Vrachos - Town Hall Square - Kalampaka Bus Station.

• Kalampaka Bus Station is on the corner of Ikonomou and Averof Street
• It's best to visit the Kalampaka Bus Station to get the most up to date timetable that has departure times from Kalampaka to Meteora and from Meteora to Kalampaka (as these do seem to change)
• As there are no departure times other than from the first and last stops (Kalampaka Bus Station and St Stephen respectively) it makes it a bit tricky to know what time the bus will arrive at each monastery. We recommend asking the ticket seller on the bus for advice and also to find out where the actual waiting/bus stop is as it's not always obvious.

Hi Peter and Yen! I'm so happy for you two that you got to cross this off your bucket list. I've been there before and it was truly one of the most amazing places in the world I've ever visited. Thanks as always for creating such informative and visually stunning videos! -Sophie

Just to think about how these Holy places were created by faithful men who were trying to preserve Christianity during times of war was just amazing! God blessed us with them!

Hi both, I can see why it is on your bucket list, the views from the 3 monastery. Love the greens (either Peter's got a new toy or the photoshop) with the drops, with the monastery perch as background. The forecourt of Varlam, really nice too

@5.45 thot Yen was going to say, but now, we are going for a lunch 😅🌮

love today's vlog, the scenery every few seconds apart, breath taking, thanks for sharing and Have a Great Week

I just seen 3 of them today by hiking. 6 hours în total. One hour from Kalambaka to The holly trinity monastery. Amazing views.

These places are sure to have an incredible view 😍. Thank you for all of these information, you guys are always well informed by viewers. Another episode with no food, and it's good because I am watching this episode with an empty tummy 😂.

Thank You. I'm going to Greece for a summer vacation, with my family, and i was thinking about going to Meteora. I hope there isn't to much walking..i've got three kids, it's a bit harder with small children..
