Imagine living in a world so screwed up that you're willing to allow yourself to be executed for a crime you didn't commit just to escape from it all.

It’s tragic that MCD didn’t win the Oscar for this film. I genuinely believe him in this film is the single best piece of acting in the history of film. He is a master and perfection.

“On the day of my judgement when I stand before God and he asks me why did I kill one of his true miracles... what am I going to say..? That it was my job?..it was my job” I’m not particularly religious but that line is delivered so deeply and it’s so moving

Over two decades later, John's words are still as relevant as ever.

When I stand before God on the day of my judgement and he asks me why I killed one of his miracles, what am I supposed to say? That it was my job?

"I'm tired of being on the road. Lonely as a sparrow in the rain. Tired of me not having a buddy to be with, to tell me where we's goin to, or comin from, or why" hits home.

The year of 1999 was one of the best years for cinema: the green mile, American beauty, magnolia, the sixth sense, the Blair witch project, fight club, office space, American pie, the insider, being John Malkovich and many others. Thank you 1999!

How horrible it must be to listen to such a kind person talk about the terrible things he feels humanity doing to one another everyday.

I'm not ashamed to admit it, this movie still makes me cry as a grown man. When I was a kid, I watched it with my mother. It was one of her favorite tear jerkers. A wretched soul took her life prematurely. This movie reminds me of her so much.

"I'm mostly tired of people being ugly to each other." - 30 seconds on Twitter would confirm that

The sad thing is, most people will feel the emotion brought on when he says he's tired of people being ugly to each other, yet will continue being ugly themselves to others

Love this movie. It's so gripping that by the end of the movie, you won't even notice you've been watching it for over 3 hours long.

The saddest, purest, and most beautiful character in movie history! The world needs more people like John!

The best part of this scene is that you see Paul struggle with more than just his job and his duty to the state. “On the day of my judgement...” He doesn’t just fear for his job— he fears for his immortal soul.
