The American Revolution was a seven-year war involving individuals from all thirteen British Colonies. Many unlikely heroes rose to fight oppression from the tyrannical English King George III. Nine courageous people explain what happened to them—all suffered and risked death for the dream of liberty. The famous “Swamp Fox,” Francis Marion, leads this group of unsung heroes who share deeply personal stories of how they battled the most powerful army of that era. These fearless everyday folks were willing to give all and join the signers of our Declaration of Independence “with a firm reliance on the protection of Divine Providence” and pledge their lives, fortunes, and sacred honor.
