Homo Deus: A Brief History of Tomorrow is a book written by Israeli author Yuval Noah Harari, professor at the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. The book was first published in Hebrew in 2015 by Dvir publishing; the English-language version was published in September 2016 in the United Kingdom and in February 2017 in the United States.

As with its predecessor, Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind, Harari recounts the course of history while describing events and the individual human experience, along with ethical issues in relation to his historical survey. However, Homo Deus (from Latin "Homo" meaning man or human and "Deus" meaning God) deals more with the abilities acquired by humans (Homo sapiens) throughout their existence, and their evolution as the dominant species in the world. The book describes mankind's current abilities and achievements and attempts to paint an image of the future. Many philosophical issues are discussed, such as humanism, individualism, transhumanism, and mortality.

I first read this book in 2015 when I was 17 years old. I think it's a must read for everyone

This is such a good book I have already read it, now I am going to listen to it; then I am going to read it again. I want every word seared into my brain.

I disagree. I think theres a black box of a self outside of the physical which is can be choosing, or that it is genuine choosing which shows up as deterministic physically. One may not choose all desires but they can choose which desires to indulge, believe it or not!

Fab book but oh that AI fake voice … horrid!

Sounding like a constipated robot. AI narration makes the content sound a bit more evil which is nice though

Sounds well written, but the narration is terrible. Weird pauses, mispronounced words, and too fast paced. Maybe listen on slow speed might be better. I think the narrator is an AI being with no understanding of how grammar and voice inflection work. Oh well...

So very hard to listen... AI is far behind a human reading

Sounds like a machine. I read 2 of his books and am disappointed. I cannot listen to this.

Harari should stick to topics he realy understands, like history... present it like colection of facts like he did with "sapiens"...

He is no "modern wiseman" as much as he tries

Sorry to say. Such a bad way to read a book. The reader is hurrying too much as if he needs to pee as soon as he finishes reading this 🙄🙄🙄. Where are the full stops, commas and all. The listeners cannot follow if you read it like a bullet train. Second bring some emotions to the reading rather than reading like an AI. Bad bad bad 1/ 5 only for the effort
