Thanks everyone for the kind words! It's good to see a hard project like this is well received. You make everything worthwhile!
And if you are interested, I was using PETG material on my LULZBOT 3D printer. PETG material is stronger than PLA, and although PLA surface finish looks nicer, PETG is not too bad either. My initial prints were done with a setting with lower temperature, which made the layers not stick too well. So I raised the temperature for later prints.

hey mehdi, just wanted to say - you have no idea how much I appreciate you include so many of your failed ideas and designs. It definitely adds to the comedic effect, but it also is such a relief for other DIYers who struggle with the same issues.
You sometimes just need a reminder that the main point is not giving up, just trying again and again until at some point it works out.

Would love to know how many hours of footage were shot for this 😮

Electroboom might be the only reason why I still let YouTube give me notifications. Educational. Entertaining. And non-zero chance of electrocution / explosion. 100% always worth my time.

Honestly, it was nice to see you proud of something you built without it exploding. Plus it's a thing that I would actually buy!

It gave me a big smile on my face when i saw the final products finally worked. Mehdi is such a multitalented person, he designed every single thing by himself, from the electrical, mechanical, even to the aerodynamics. Thank you for your dedication Mehdi, you showed us all the struggles you have been through while building the lamp and it all turned out as one of the beautiful lamp i have ever seen.

This is actually such an incredibly executed creative idea, i feel like with some fine tuning and polishing this wouldn’t be out of place in like a magic theme park display

I absolutely love it when projects like this show the whole engineering process. In pursuit of an end product, there will almost always be mistakes and revisions and deviations from original designs, and that's important to capture. IMO that journey is just as, if not more, gratifying than the end product. Awesome project, awesome video!

This has to be some of your best work yet. Stubbornness + big brain moments = pure art.

I've been watching ElectroBOOM for years now. And I have to say that this project by far is the best and most entertaining. It was really satisfying seeing you overcome the obstacles.
Excellent job Mehdi!

The final result is so impressive! I liked it a lot! Also the montage of assembling the lantern and the music was really pleasant! Nice one Mehdi!!! :D

This video stands out. I can't put my finger on why but it's just on a different level. And that's saying something considering the already high level of your work.
The final assembly montage with the music was something special.

I thought your usual content was excellent already, but you have shown us something amazing today. You must have put so much hard work into this, you can tell from the process of problem-solving you demonstrated, how carefully-crafted all the parts are, how well the final product works, and the music rose to the occasion too, like you told your editor "this is a special one". Thank you! I'm sure a lot of people will be inspired to make this at home.

What a beautiful project! What I like most of all is that you don't hide how complicated it is, how many iterations you needed to go through, and just how much sweat, tears and grit went into it, even for someone who is well-versed as you in electronics and 3d printing.

I respect you a hell of a lot for NOT trying to make it look super duper easy peasy lemon squeezy.
