Srsly, KvD has the best colors ever. Her grasp of color theory as it applies to makeup and skin is phenomenal. Every single palette, every single time, the colors work so smoothly together with each other to create looks that aren't the standard interpretation of generic looks. Yet in spite of her love of some rather "unnatural" colors, they're still skin tone correct. And I don't know exactly how to articulate this next point, but when it comes to how the colors blend together on the skin to create that seamless, natural blend... they're an accurate representation of how colors change when the light around them changes, just like the entire concept of "shade and light" implies. I've always imagined she studies photos of real life, like sunset landscapes or shady backyards, when deciding which colors to choose for a palette. It always seems like every other makeup brand out there pulls out a color wheel and makes the decision based on either the color content numbers or what will look good in the palette rather than what colors actually do in different light settings and how they look on skin. There's an element of artistry in KvD that's just simply an order of magnitude above everyone else. I'm always so impressed. Btw, you rock the shit out of crack eyes. ;)
