UNE Alumni – New England University College

The New England University College (NEUC) opened in 1938 with 24 students and 5 staff in the magnificent Booloominbah Homestead in Armidale as the first regional university in Australia. With a student body mainly drawn from communities across northern New South Wales, the college operated as a campus of the University of Sydney until it was recognised as the University of New England (UNE) in 1954.

The University of New England is a leader in the provision of distance education offering a full range of subjects and courses, as well as being a centre of excellence in research with strong industry links. UNE is the only Australian public university awarded the maximum 5 stars for overall student experience 13 years in a row by the Australian Good Universities Guide.

There are over 100,000 alumni of the University of New England with graduates working around the world and in 2018 we are celebrating the lives and achievements of the NEUC alumni.
