If you think feelings for someone just go away when they says "we won't ever be a thing", you have never crushed on someone. There are alot of ways to deal with it, with some being way better than others, but when you care about someone beyond a superficial level, its hard to just "move on".

Once got rejected by a dude i really liked. Which i was honestly fine with, we were friends beforehand and stayed friends afterwards, i never pressed the issue, but a couple of days after i said i liked him he asked me what i saw in him. And i, not being very good with words or emotions, just sort of talked about how i liked his personality and his writing and our interactions and all that. And the Fucker had the Audacity to call me Shallow. Didn't even explain his logic behind that conclusion. Which is the primary reason i stopped liking him in that way.
