I am a nerd, I learn, study, create, probably on a unhealthy level. My room is covered in equipment from floor to ceiling. Every day I am asking myself how I can help. Week 1, I started with new plots now totaling 16(row crops). I can code, CAD, Weld, CNC, build 3d printers, build furniture(profession), finish, grow food effectively, practice coherence, study our past, and I can happily say I have rarely made a hell out of myself and put it on others. I have skills and I want to help. I am the lone wolf but I can make anything. I am beginning to think the starcraft approach involving the nerf sentry code and a metal dispensary unit may not be such a bad idea for the future. Seriously though. I can't find my place in this. I can create. You made me realize I made a fatal mistake in life. I have big unnamed online communities. I see why these people came. But in real life. I did not align myself with good people because I can't get my head out of my ass making things all the time to find them. My friends all have motors in them. I need to find these people around me. How can I find these people? Surely I can make something to help. Ive been thinking find people in permaculture.

Jordan, I think you're wise to set the bar higher than the typical intentional community vision, but in your description of a startup-like vision, you didn't specify how those characteristics show up in the civium's _local_ structures (IRL/Dunbar) vs. its _virtual_ (online/Zoom/VR) structures as described in video 01. In the Dunbar space, a tech startup orientation ("fail forward") can have a very high human cost. When you "move fast and break things, " the things aren't apps, they're people. An autopoietic structure must dissipate entropy to generate emergent order, and in a social structure you're either dissipating _broken people_ (exclusion, excommunication) or dissipating _their brokenness_ (healing, deschooling, psychotech, etc.). In my experience, both forms of dissipation are needed because everyone is broken to some extent, so the early core membership of Node Zero needs to exclude severely broken folks while developing the capacity to help new members repair their damage.

And if Node Zero is somehow going to serve future nodes as a model of "humaning together" in real life (not just virtually), it can't have only members with extraordinary talent (like a typical startup). If this is going to catch on with "normal" folks, they'll need to be able to see themselves in the model.

Yes folks... more than that of hemp-socks and glass-bong manufacturing, the economy of Civiums should be that of cold-fusion, quantum-computing, gene-therapy and aerospace. :)

Who? When? Where?

Who are the founders of The Civium?

When will The Civium start development?

Where online and offline will The Civium develop?

Yup, one hell of a lot of failure. Built a lot of resilience and anti-fragility mindset towards failure. Fail, reiterate, reiterate, reiterate, smooth and fast. And grow fast from the learnings. Be grounded and rooted, not idealistic, the bird’s eye view ideals are enough to balance the groundedness. But bring tons of ideas. Individually throw it away, throw your offering away, into the collective intelligence, don’t layer it onto ego. Pure servant leadership.

Want Q&A questions? Well here's a few...

What kind of up-front investment is necessary before the civium can keep pace with Game A and self-sustain?

Where are the phyical communities happening? You mention new attitudes to property, equity, and trade balance. Does this suggest a nation-state approach? It is to be done within a country like the US? How does this not become another billionaire island fantasy?

How different is the relationship between people and money in the civium than what it is in the outside world? What does commerce look like inside the civium? What do markets look like in the civium and how are they maintained? Where does anti-rivalrousness and generativity fit in to a civium's economics?

What does education look like within the civium? What are the guidelines for a culture of continual education, rather than an institution of education?

How can the civium be scaled past the size of our largest organizations today? What are the theories of organization which will enable it to develop autopoetically without collapsing in on itself?

Jordan, you mentioned this one of your replies: "The same folks (Apple and Google employees) at the Civium can collaborate with whoever they choose...". Really interested to hear more about the economic model you are envisaging.

Side note: Been debating a lot of similar ideas/concepts with a few friends over the last year or so, and extremely thankful that @chilkene1 put me onto this.

While Google is a good place to think about where Civium could start, I also think a very good possibility is the Global South. Just a thought

Beautiful to see the development of these.

So Questions - Observing the way a significant amount of people have been craving to go back to normal/work at this stage of the pandemic, Its become clear that folks (incl a lot of us) are intricately tide to the continuation of the game a machine in order to eat, live etc. So what are the leverage points we could use to untangle our needs & pyscho-social identities from the machine. Im thinking along the lines of UBI, commons food supply chain, Game bee cultural narratives etc..

How would a civium member build his/her own platform on a truth base.

Could a civium hub be a thing. ie:mesh

Emergent by design, collaborative by nature.

Can I add the words advancing in excellence to out compete.

I love how this idea challenges

I've really been enjoying your videos lately Jordan and this one is no exception. Questions for you: Why is the export of a living unit creative/ productive in nature? What will make it possible for this (likely quite small) unit able to outcompete that of a traditional corporation? Don't the corporations have an inherent advantage in terms of highly skilled/ creative people NOT needing to live together (among others)? And finally, why do you prefer this export focus to that of a village whose primary export is its state/ stage? Isn't that primary to creativity/ generativity?

It's unfortunate you didn't have some more lights. Good lighting would have made this much better with relatively little work (compared to getting new camera or trying to film outside with worse noise issues).
Still, the content is king and this is good content.
Thank you.

It seems that the most valuable services these days are 1.) information technology (phones, computers, networks), 2.) money (effortless secure transactions, cryptocurrency), 3.) contracts and investments, 4.) reliable information (news, journalism, research, encyclopedias), 5.) quality arts & entertainment (music, movies, comedy, debates). If the Civium becomes the "place" where all of this creativity is happening then everyone with innovative drive and a progressive vision of human evolution will want to "move" there, just like they now do to New York or LA or one of the many "Silicon Valley"s that exist in physical space. Maybe the thing to do is "sell" memberships to all the really "cool" and inventive people? Or it could be sort of a virtual Galt's Gulch for highly ethical value creators who can see that the existing socio-economic-political system is in the process of slow collapse and feel that the present corruption is holding them and all of humanity back from realizing their highest potentials.

How would it look in terms of ecological design, food production, land management and actual resilience ?

How do we design virtual spaces to not generate echo chambers and build media platforms that are incentivised to tell truth as it is?

I have a purely practical point of discussion.
To what extent do you think the physical spaces and social networks need to be built from scratch? Can the Civium idea infect existing physical villages with semi-ideal humaning+naturing characteristics to play the role of eggs? Can it infect existing virtual de-centralised talent networks and movements akin to digital nomads to play the role of Civium spermatozoa? Or is it better to build a prototype from scratch to maximise initial purity of concept realisation, although it might (?) take significantly more time to develop and eventually not represent a test of the most scalable solution?
As much as I love the idea of building ad-hoc, it doesn't feel like it has the same growth potential as being able to include, guide or transform what is similar enough already to build momentum.
What do you all think on this point?
Thanks for the inspiration Jordan

Hello Jordan, would you say the social unification behind the endeavor of the node 0 is itself autopoietic? In other words, must the prerequisite mindset blossom on its own ( within the community of the hyper-potent ) or is enforced ( pushed, pressured ) design from the outside without a fatal detriment?
