In this presentation, we will provide clarity on this subject and explain four types of government and political structure of the Caribbean, and answer the question of how many Caribbean countries there really are.

Dominican Republic, Haiti and Cuba fought and won their independence long before any of those other Islands. We have the most brave and fearless people in the Caribbean.

As a Barbadian, I'm glad we moved away from hanging on to the colonial coat tail and I pray more Caribbean territories do the same.

Nice video but i think the Dominican Republic is the bestest example of a Republic of those countries, it has the biggest economy in the caribbean and it's one of the most stable republic in all the Américas

I beg to differ on some of your comments, for example, After Haiti, Guyana and Trinidad & Tobago are the two oldest Republics in the Caribbean and has been so even before some of the other islands even got independence. Therefore all the other islands have seen and known what its like to be a Caribbean Republic from these two larger more populated countries. So explain to us why use relatively new Republics such as Barbados and Dominica as examples

Territories are still full blown Colonies, regardless of any excuses given by any parties.

The British Commonwealth ones are quasi colonies.

Only the ones that have gained full sovereignty, are Countries.

From the start Anglo bias. There is a huge island just freaking west of Cuba. Man what's wrong with you.

Wrong. Cuba did not become communist in 1959. After the revolution, Castro turned to the USA and the west for support. Not only was he rebuffed but he was opposed and undermined. It was only then that Castro turned to Russia. As Russia helped, Cuba gradully became communist in the early 60s.

Then I guess all Caribbean nations must unite together into United Caribbean Union even all their sports teams work together. Even the highest possible Caribbean democratic nation must make this a great possible united democratic Caribbean Union nation.

Jamaica and Trinidad & Tobago led the Independence movement in the Caribbean and Haiti, Dominican Rep and Trinidad & Tobago led the Republican movement in the Caribbean.
