Michael Brecker was and still is unique - and a very humble guy at the same time. I once was in the audience when he played a great solo, the audience applauded big time but he was not satisfied with his own performance and made a gesture like: no, no, that wasn´t good at all.
Mike Stern once told about his horror when he had to play a solo right after Michael. And I guess most musicians felt just the same.

It hurts me to think that someone so beautiful who gave so much and who possessed the ability to rescue the soul and bring it to joy and bliss as he did is gone. I thank him for every heartfelt sound that he left for us.
