Have been struggling to move profile with multiple email accounts and all other instructions just directed to replace the whole folder. I guess leaving newly created folder name was THE KEY. THANK YOU !!!

Thank you, very good video, this just saved me. Works on a Mac too, the location of the folder is username/library (hidden folder!). Official instructions in the thunderbird page are slighty different and do NOT work.

You forgot to mention that if you close thunderbird after doing this and reopen it, it's all gone. All folders gone. I'm doing exactly this - the only difference is I'm migrating it to an offline PC. I should be able to see my emails whether I have a connection or not based on the 8GB folder size of my profile.

Hello, I did exactly copy as you did, and pasted the files inside the newly profile name, but the thunderbird opens blank, anything that I may be doing wrong?

Gibt es auch die Möglichkeit die Addons und deren Settings mitzunehmen?
Bei mir sehe ich jetzt nach dem Umzug zwar die Addons, und die sind angeblich auch aktiviert, aber davon sehen an Funktionen sehe ich nichts.
