Welsh historian here! I love how much you compare the climate of Wales to Kentucky because one of my special areas of research is a Welsh migration in the mid 500s AD where they navigated up the Mississippi & settled around Kentucky/Tennessee. They probably stopped when they hit the rainy hills and thought "How lovely! Just like home!" 😂

I am Welsh I don’t mind being called British but English don’t even get me started it’s not that I hate the English but wales has it own culture and identity even though I don’t even speak Welsh enough to hold a conversation for more than a minute I am proud to be Welsh we have are own sense of identity. Even though I don’t hate English people if I am watching a sports games with England against Scotland, Ireland and of course wales I always support the team against England I dunno why I think it’s in our culture to see England lose ahahha just because Scotland Ireland and wales were the first country’s that England took control over it’s always nice to see England get a taste of their own medicine

"Wales is the Kentucky of the UK"! Absolutely!! I love the beaches in Kentucky, the miles of mountain passes, the stone walls, millions of sheep, many towns where all locals don't use English often, and the bilingual road signs. 😂

We live a mile from the Welsh border in Cheshire, only an hour from Snowdon, love, love, love it, so beautiful, just wish there were more job opportunities for Welsh youngsters, unemployment is very high in Wales and they deserve better.

In wales alone there are 600 castles, some are ruins and others are intact but beautiful never the less JT. Cardiff is our capital city as its the largest, but it's not the only city as we have a few of them. We also have a lot of beaches too, where i am in swansea( pronounced swanzee) there about 3 main beaches Swansea bay, Mumbles bay and bracelet bay which has a long walk way and you end up on langland bay. It doesn't rain all the time at the moment where i am it's sunny today. You don't have to learn welsh but we appreciate it when you at least try.

Welsh lanes are wider than Cornish ones and the Cornish ones often have high walls on both sides.

I'm English, my wife and son-in-law are both Welsh. Love going to visit family and friends, whenever we get the chance to pop down to South Wales, we live in Lancashire. I get a lot of stick, especially during the Rugby season, but it's all just banter. Great country great people, with lots of places to visit 😊

When you come to Wales, north or mid Wales like Snowdonia are the most beautiful and have castles. There are loads of little villages that are nice like Conwy or Rhos on Sea, Llangollen etc. At my parents place there is only internet in one room. Well come on home! 😊 you n Anna are welcome anytime.

The Welsh are British. They're not English. If anything, the Welsh are the OG British!

The kids eat at the pubs. Where I live, as long as your going in for the food, you can go in whenever you want.

You and Anna would love Wales and the people there are wonderful.

In my youth, shops closed around 5 and were closed all day on Sundays.

Welsh rain is besutiful. Walking in it is an amazing feeling. Don't use an umbrella. Only tourists do that and the wind will shred it. Just learn yo love getting wet.

Is he just doing that in the rain?
Welcome to Britain. You'll often see news people just reporting in the rain.

If you do go to Wales - especially as an American - TRY THE LAMB.

I live in N.Wales and I can confirm that the Internet is terrible here. If I go upstairs in my home it's instantly lost.
Enjoy your holiday here, there is loads to do and the chap is right, the people here are very friendly and helpful. 😊
