Goggle now was on android before iOS. Its just if you didn't get a 4.2 device you may not have seen it. It is a downloadable app on some previous versions. On 4.2 android it's easier to access. If you have an on screen home button hold your finger on the home button and slide up and you will have a vast choice of live info and you may chose what info is important to you and that is what you will see. Mine is weather, flights, bus, and local nearby current and future
events like music concerts.

I work for Google, and you're right Google is bigger than Android, incase Ali doesn't know, YouTube is a small part of Google, the best way to be a good brand is to branch out, getting apps on ios and Windows Phone.

and also to have a universal charging port on all Android devices so if you get a phone it will work with your docking station, unlike Apple who changed the connector so everyone has to now buy new docking stations or adapters

22 januaary 2015 "google now" (on "any" screen) prevents multiple applications to run. alarm, voice rec., music player..etc, wont work. fix that

It might seem weird at first glance but it's ensuring that Google's products and names maintain availability so people learn to associate Google with more than just their search engine.

It might seem like they're unknowingly supporting the competition but the reality is, they're knowingly creating a consumer base right under their competitions nose.

Now if you could bring them widgets, live wallpapers, third-party launchers, third-party lock screens, third-party keyboards, windowed apps for true multitasking and real browsers, they'd be on their way to having a modern OS.

It's because you searched google now, The app used is google search. Apple was not the inventor of voice command's on mobile devices either.

It's because it's easier to develop for iOS. Like many mobile developers, Google writes many of their apps in Xcode, then rewrites it for Android OS. The Android SDK is designed mainly for ports.

To all those asking why Google is putting these apps on either of the platforms is because they aren't looking at the android vs iOS side of thing, instead they see this as a way to grow their user base on either of the platforms so either way I they succeed. Its a win-win situation.

Very good app. I just feel that Google should be kinder to it's own OS. I always get the latest hardware and software that I can get my hands on but not everyone does.
