Department of Earth & Environmental Sciences at Michigan State University Introduction

Показать описание
The resources we use in modern society--whether food, metals, minerals, or energy—ultimately derive from the Earth, so solving the problems of the natural world will require an all-hands-on-deck, interdisciplinary approach. The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences at Michigan State University is interdisciplinary by nature, giving students with a variety of academic backgrounds the opportunity to work with big data, in the field, or in our research labs.
The Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences offers a pathway to a Bachelor of Science degree in Environmental Geosciences and Geological Sciences (with optional concentrations in Geophysics). Graduate students can pursue a Master of Science degree in Environmental Geosciences and Geological Sciences, or a Doctor of Philosophy in Earth and Environmental Sciences and Environmental Geosciences-Environmental Toxicology.
MSU’s Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences is small enough that you’re not just one of 500 students in a lecture hall, yet large enough to provide real-world experience working with real-world data as part of the “knowledge economy,” which is growing steadily and producing new employment opportunities. One reason the department’s alumni are so employable is that the broad skills they learn open the doors to a wide range of careers—whether in academia, research, or industry.
