This is a quick video of the very first test of our 6DOF motion platform. Obviously there's a lot of tweaking and tuning to do, but we're pretty happy with the overall functionality. In this video we are only utilizing pitch and roll with very crude mappings from longitudinal and lateral acceleration, respectively.

Curious if it makes you actually feel like your accelerating or If your about to take off to another planet

It's like driving a car with worn out shocks.

I see a lot of complaints about the range of motion here. But you are comparing the motion to a real car where your body is subjected to inertia, momentum + you are actually moving in physical space. But how can you replicate at least 20% of that while sitting still....you dial it up. Exaggerate the movements till you fool your brain. This is a DIY setup so they went overboard a bit but still makes sense.

Seems like it's lifting the seat a bit much, it's probably more immersive with VR though. ^^ How is it set up? Are you developing it for massproduction or is it a single project?

The design of motion simulators is to simulate forces not simulate motion

Way too much movement. Hard accelerstion throws u back in your seat but doesn't point you to the moon
