My name is Chuco Moreno I’m a Chicano artist from the barrios of California I have worked my way to front lines of professional tattooing and the arena of art on the world stage. My art is a generational gift that has been passed down through out the lineage of my people. Collectively those that Come before me have expressed our struggle, strength and love for our culture and each other through collage art, a medium that expresses thoughts and ideas through the use of images relative to the emotion desired to be conveyed. I was with the band Gabriels and its members pushing art and open mind as a brother and artist pushing to be heard from the beginning. in this small group of friends from all spectrum of life and different sides of the world I found a brotherhood and a family. The art that was being made was true, pure and from the heart something that I’m drawn to at my core.

When the band recently asked for my contribution and for my art to be attached to their newest single ’One and only’ I liked the idea immediately. You see the friendship and bond between us as artists is deeper than just the business of making business. We are all a spoke in the wheel of a movement. Something special and truly different. My art on its own would not normally be seen as in line with a band such as Gabriels but in fact it is, the idea and common thread between the two is acceptance and love which is the birthplace of all true art. The contrast of my art and the origins of it brings something unique but still distinctly in line with the message of what the music is trying to say.

The art I’ve rendered itself is in the form of a heart the imagery includes notes of pain, loyalty through struggle and the chains that bind us in the emotion of love. No matter who or how you choose to love in this life I believe that the costs are all the same and that we all in the choosing of love offer up on that altar ourselves. Thank you my brothers from Gabriels for this opportunity to contribute and be heard.
