Nice work Del! A little tip for anyone who may be having trouble bleeding up the slave after, is to pre fill it with fluid with a syringe via the bleed nipple (and the hose off) first, then loosely locate the slave in place. As you tighten the bolts down, this will compress the piston, thus expelling any air in the slave. Bolt the hose on and enjoy a quicker and easier bleeding process 👍🏻

Thanks Del, another nice thorough video with all the necessary details. As mentioned I had the same T3, its clutch suddenly vanished - no fluid in the cylinders, maybe it snuck out via that pushrod seal? A new cylinder was only $100 bucks or so, so I put that on.
Another one to add to Mysteries of Motorcycle Manufacture aka.MMM....
I also would ask rhetorically WTF did Triumphs bean counters waste all that money on a hydraulic clutch and make it more complex than need be? - the Tiger 955 I have has a cable clutch and it works superbly.
They could have used the money saved to put drain plugs in the forks🤪.

I like your work style. This is one of the classic repairs in which only the expertise is clearly expressed, when a big problem becomes the fun of easy job... it also gives a lot of inspiration. Great video work and editing as usual. THANKS

I bet that clutch cylinder was never in better shape even when it was brand new. Thorough and meticulous work as always Del. Being an old timer who worked mostly on heavy equipment where everything was cast iron or steel I still cringe when I hear that snap noise when breaking loose bolts into aluminum. Always scares me.😧😁 Love the maintenance tips and tricks videos. Thanks Del and Penny. Your efforts are much appreciated. God bless friends. ❤👍👍

Great video Del. I use a Brake Fluid Liquid Tester Pen on previously opened containers before each use. Works on Dot 3 and 4. Have a great week.

Amassing what good clean and a polish can do Del! Of course the expertise and know how is just as important. Great job Del. Catch you later brother.

Ah, 'good clean, fluid motions, ones that will reliably aid everyday clutching actions' - damned important at our age, what?
Reminds me of the 'Mandalorian' actor; win an Oscar for standing still & looking intense with a bucket on your head?! : )xx

Hi Penny and Del - awesome video as always! This is one of those rare times when you have covered something I am pretty familiar with, though I have to say that this design is better than my Bandit where you have to remove the from sprocket cover to get at the clutch slave cylinder. Very nicely documented and great result! Always a pleasure when a new video comes out. Take care, my friends, be well, ride safe!

Any ideas of the cause? Like you I've bled the clutch on my 2002 trophy and not noticed any issue with the fluid. My clutch is starting to feel heavy to me, but I'm not sure if it's an issue with my arthritic hands or a real problem. Looks like I might be following your example. Great video and could be very helpful to me.👍Of course I'd have to buy some banjo washers though!

I have done that before. Everyone claims that once you open that bottle of break fluid, you have to use it all. Well, I am glad you clarified that for me once again.

Hey Del. I need to get some of that red rubber lube. My old gal could do with some rubber revival. Question, are you not concerned that it will contaminate the fluid the seal is meant to retain? P.s. I’m partial to a light green tint. No agenda, I promise. 😂

Good tip re fluid. …if I may share another one with you. Don’t remove the foil seal, just pierce with two small holes diametrically opposite, one to let the fluid out, one to let the air in and control flow with the finger tip - helps prevent accidental spillage.

And this is how I found out clutches don't use cables anymore. And I love your methodology! Keep it real mate! ;)
