To be honest, abs are mostly a sign of low bodyfat rather than strength. You can still be strong, lean, have a strong and defined core without having abs. Anyone who thinks abs are a sign of strength need to go to any local gym and look at the dudes who are lifting the most weight, they very rarely have 6 pack abs
