My father-in-law would get so annoyed about the doors locking passengers inside the car but refused to change the settings as he thought it was some sort of witchcraft that would damage the car. After 14 years (not exaggerating) of this, he recently sold us the car and I just made this change. Less than a minute of effort and now the doors automatically unlock and the car didn't explode. The sweet sweet taste of victory. Thanks for posting this 10 years ago!

Ah, thank you! I was getting increasingly frustrated having to unlock all my doors to get into my back seat for personal belongings before and after work. This helped a ton!

Wow driving a new-to-me 2010 CR-V in 2023 and all these years later your video is a game changer. Thanks.

1) Key out of ignition. Close driver's door.
2) Key in ignition to ON II position (warning lights come on)
(5/6 MT models, doesn't matter which gear)
3) Push and hold 'rear' (unlock) of master lock switch on driver's door for 15- 20 seconds. First click, program mode. Second click, driver door unlock feature enabled. Third click, both doors unlock feature is enabled.
4) Release driver door lock switch, turn key to accessory position, and remove key.

Hope this works for you. Let me know!

Is there a way to KEEP all the doors locked when you put it in park? This is the setting I'm looking for. I don't want any of the doors to unlock automatically.

I swear that’s so dangerous 🤦🏾‍♀️ that’s the ONLY feature about my car that I hate 😐 I want my car to STAY locked.

Thanks for the video, I tried everything on my wife's car for this. It is so annoying to have to hit unlock for the rest of the doors every time.

Worked on my 2008 Civic! Thanks! It took me 2 tries because I misunderstood the 1st click to be the (after 5-seconds) click. It wasn't, it was just the standard locking click.

I did the same thru the display settings, but no matter what I did, only three of the doors unlocked, while the left rear door stayed locked; will try your method tomorrow. Thanks for the very detailed explanations !
