It's not like he'd go around telling his colleagues at the WSJ that he was recruited by the DIA or CIA.

I wonder how many of these people have said ANYTHING about a real journalist such as Julian Assange.

- Are you sure you're not a spy?
- Of course not.
- How do we know you're telling the truth?
- The company I work for made a touching video saying that I am innocent and just looking for the truth.
- Well.... then you are completely justified.

The fact that everybody’s coming out saying that he’s not a spy with pretty much make everybody to believe that he was a spy

"Russian heritage"...just because his ancestors are from Russia does not mean he's of Russian heritage. I strongly doubt this guy is, his entire identity may be a CIA fabrication. Or maybe he's of a completely different stock. But who knows, I wish him the best as a fellow human being and hope he does not do 16 years when all is said and done, but espionage is a dangerous game especially when your country is demanding to break up their country.

How many other americans are in russia? If any are left this should be the final warning and stay at your own risk. Unless of course you are a spy then get that intel.

You can thank the Bush administration for normalizing enhanced interrogation techniques. This means he could be subject to extremes of heat and cold, waterboarding, sleep deprivation, stress positions, persistent loud music and light, humiliation, extended interrogations, prolonged confined spaces, etc.
