My review of the 2025 Honda CRV Sport Touring Hybrid, a $40k CR-V. It's actually what it cost almost 30 years ago still.. technically.

I have had two of these in the last 16 years. Absolutely nothing has gone wrong on these cars. I have done just regular maintenance and that’s it.

"The cup holder looks like Donkey Kong wearing a snowboarder ski mask and smiling." That made my day. Don't ever change Sarah. Also love how your outfit matches the car color scheme.

Not going off-road shouldn’t be a problem to most people buying one of these.

I recently purchased a 2025 CRV Hybrid Touring in this Solar Silver & I love it!
Super comfortable, quiet & drives like a dream.

I have the 2016 version of this car. I think you are right on point with your description of this car. It has been reliable, with no problems at all for 8 years. Also, it will never be confused with a performance care. Family car.

Absolutely perfect 2014 that I planned to keep forever, brought to an untimely end by a freak storm that blew down a tree in my front yard and totaled it. In its memory I bought a new 2025.

Purchased this exact model a week ago; in Canyon River Blue. Its very comfortable to drive, the steering very smooth; I also appreciate the improvement of little to no road noise. Great review on the CRV. 😎

I test drove this car, as my wife's lease was up for her 21 CRV touring. With the sound deadening glass and tech I was very impressed.

Modern Honda CVTs and eCVTs actually have an interesting quirk that you discovered: If you just stomp the accelerator, the car will fake gear shifts. If you brake boost/launch it, the car disables that stupid thing to give you maximum power. That's why it felt so quick and also why there were no fake gear shifts in your beans assessment.

I finally became a subscriber after watching about a dozen reviews. Your reviews are humorous and very informative. I love watching the Nerd Out. Nobody else does it!

I love my 2023 CRV Sport Hybrid. It’s quick and only has to fill up once a month. Averages 47.6 mpg city/hwy. The steering is and handling is quick. The interior is comfortable and plenty of legroom for rear passengers. The only complaint I have is the sound of the horn and no spare tire.

Had a Honda CR-V III (facelift 2010) 150 HP, sold in 2017 with 135000 miles and no problems at all. Was not a fast car but very reliable.

Great review, Sarah!

Amen to the diss for fake exhaust tips, but especially when there are two of them but only one exhaust outlet in the first place. Perhaps Honda was going not only for symmetry in the rear, but to match the two silver trim pieces in the front. Still no excuse. For most of the people buying these, it would have been fine to just hide the exhaust under the bumper.

I love that you talk engineering, Sarah.

I have been hoping you might review one of these. I have the 2024 and can concur with most of your assessment. Definitely not for off-roading, gravel parking lot or grass field is about all the off-road this vehicle will see. I was surprised how well it does on twisty mountain roads since it is a cruiser and not a sports car. Seats where great for 2 cross country trips, very comfortable even during 10-12 hour drives. Hybrid economy has been excellent. This vehicle excels in it's intended environment....Runs to Costco. The back swallows a lot of cargo even with the rear seats up. Rear seat space is huge for a smaller SUV and extra bonus.

I have one of these and I love it. Pretty boring to drive vs. my *other* car, but as an all-purpose family vehicle I have literally nothing to complain about except perhaps the absence of a spare tire. Every aspect of the design, from infotainment to mechanical, feels restrained and thoughtful.

Where else can I go for sway bar and exhaust measurements, metals used in the parts, even the rear diff final drive ratio, but Professor Sarah's automotive engineering class. Thanks for everything plus the beans.
