Case Summary
Ramji is an uneducated farmer. His father Hema Ji approached ICICI Bank for Kisan loan and a loan amount of Rs. 1,80,000.00 was approved after keeping their land as security.

However when they approached the bank to withdraw the loan amount they were obligated to invest a portion of the loan amount towards issuance of life insurance policy.

As Hema Ji age was probably high and as he was not a suitable candidate for issuance of life insurance policy so policy was issued in name of Hema Ji's son Ramji.

During investment they were informed about one time investment but to their shock they were approached by bank officers after one year of investment and were asked to deposit the renewal premium in the insurance policy and were informed at this stage that their money has been invested in an insurance plan with regular premium payment obligations.

They were also informed that if they do not pay premiums for subsequent years their earlier deposited sum of Rs. 40,000.00 will be forfeited by the insurance company.

Hema Ji and Ramji are registered in Rajasthan state BPL list and just cannot afford to pay annual premiums of Rs. 40,000.00

मैं रामजी भील हूँ | मुझे आईसीआईसीआई बैंक एवं आईसीआईसीआई प्रुडेंशियल बीमा कंपनी के अधिकारीयों द्वारा ठगा गया हैं |

मेरे पिताजी ने आईसीआईसीआई बैंक से किसान लोन लिया था और बैंक द्वारा हमारी जमींन गिरवी रखने के पश्च्यात हमें 1,80,000/- रुपये का लोन पास किया गया किन्तु लोन की रकम बैंक से लेते समय बैंक अधिकारी ने बताया कि लोन की रकम उठाने से पहले जीवन बीमा पालिसी लेना आवश्यक हैं जिसमे कि एक मुश्त 40,000/- रुपये जमा करने होंगे |

हमारी मनाही पर हमें लोन की रकम देने से इनकार कर दिया | मजबूरन हमें लोन की रकम से निकालकर चालीस हज़ार रुपये बीमा पालिसी में जमा करने पड़े |

एक वर्ष पश्च्यात बैंक के अधिकारी घर पर आये और चालीस हज़ार रुपये की बीमा किश्त जमा करने का दबाव बनाने लगे | हमने रकम जमा करने से इंकार किया तो हमें बताया गया कि हमारा पैसा ऐसी बीमा पालिसी में निवेशीत हैं जिसमे की प्रत्येक वर्ष पैसा जमा करना आवश्यक हैं अन्यथा पूर्व में जमा रकम बीमा कंपनी द्वारा जब्त कर ली जाएगी |

मैं एक अनपढ़ किसान हूँ और क्यूंकि पिताजी की उम्र ज्यादा थी और उनके नाम से बिमा जारी नहीं हो सकता था, शायद इसीलिए बीमा पालिसी मेरे नाम से ज़ारी की गयी हैं |

हमारा परिवार राजस्थान सरकार द्वारा ज़ारी बी.पी.एल. लिस्ट में सर्वे क्रामंक 29XXX9 पर वर्ष 2002 से दर्ज हैं |

हमारे आस पास के कई गाँव के किसानों को इस प्रकार आईसीआईसीआई बैंक द्वारा धोखे से आईसीआईसीआई प्रुडेंशियल की बिमा पोलिसियाँ ज़ारी की गयी हैं|
