today is Saturday morning. Andrew and Maria are doing their chores, their mom has asked them to do that.
-it has been a hard job for me. My mom has given me so many chores.
i have to take the dog for a walk now

-and how about dusting the shelves?
-i have already done that.

In American English many of these could also be said using the simple past, if it's done and over. The UK uses present perfect more because it's next to Europe and thee European languages tend towards the PP I use PP if I want to sound more excited about something. The dog ate my lunch vs. The dog has eaten my lunch.
