I know it's old version is pretty well known nowadays, but I haven't seen anyone talk about the Gray Zapinator and it's Hardmode counterpart, the Orange Zapinator. Despite the lasers' random behavior, it's quite a powerful magic weapon. You can even pair it with Meteor Armor to give it 0 mana cost.

There's a reason why people don't use the pew-matic horn...It's overall DPS is on par with the minishark which is a pre boss weapon and by the time you get it you would already have something better like the boomstick, so imo it's not very good considering the stage you get it.

Sky Fracture. It is so fun to use that I've made whole worlds only using mage just to use that weapon. It is amazing.

Fun Fact: with an an identical setup, the Starlight has the same DPS as the Meowmere.

I tried to use some magic weapons like the Princess Staff and Empress of Light Lantern, but in the moment that you obtain both, they are weak, some Weapons like Rainbow Rod and Dark Genie Lamp can carry you at least to Lunatic Cultist and Golem, after that you have the Martian MiniGun, Razorpine, Spirit Staff, etc

Flamethrower after skeleton (plus, add the special shroomite gear and it’s even better) if you can beat skeleton as your first mechanical boss, The flamethrower will carry you through to moon lord. I’d say the flamethrower rivals the terra blade… the fact that it ignores 15 points of enemy defense is crazy… claps through all other mechanical bosses, absolutely melts plantera, does very decent against golem and lunatic cultist, and by the time the weapon gets outpaced, you can already get the vortex beater or phantasm

The Spirit Flame carried my Mastermode mage only run all the way up through Golem and Duke Fishron.
