The companies don't sponsor the team - they OWN the team.

I absolutely love these designs, and I wish more American stadiums were like this in that they had more outfield seating. I know they're considered 'bad seats' but it's so fun seeing fly balls come to you and having a chance at catching a home run.

The reason of NPB teams included the name of the parent company in the Team name is because the team is owned by the company rather than individuals. Also the company used the team to create more publicity, i.e. to promote the parent company's image. So effectively the team acts as advertisement for the company. In fact, for most of the NPB history, the name of the teams only consist of company name + nick name. To incorporate the city name is only in practice within the last two decades.

The reason why Buffaloes has such a cracking 2nd. stadium is because Buffaloes merged Orix Blue Wave from Kobe some years ago, so they are obliged to represent both old teams.

The left field stands of Mazda Stadium look like a great place to watch a game.

Love this walkthrough of the parks. I hope you'll fancy an update in 2023, for, let's say, there'd be some pleasant change.

Nippon Ham Fighters can't wait to get the hell out of Sapporo Dome. The team had a major falling out with the owner of the Dome (the city of Sapporo) due to its ridiculous usage fee.

Fantastic!!! Ham. Lol. Keep up the excellent production and content. I would definitely like to head over to Japan and catch a ballgame. Bro, I'm a fan of your channel now cuz you don't disappoint. Cheers!

1:24 A better internal comparison for The Big Egg would be the Metrodome, the old stadium for the Minnesota Twins, which was similar in design and also pneumatically-supported..

japanese here. FYI for 2023 season, there are couple updates. the Rakuten Seimei Park changed to the Rakuten Mobile Park.
the Hokkaido Nippon Ham Fighters are no longer using the Sapporo Dome. They moved to the brand new retractable domed stadium called the Escon Field Hokkaido.

Tokyo Dome looks more like the old Hubert Humphrey MetroDome in Minneapolis. The MetroDome was home to the Minnesota Twins, Minnesota Vikings, and the University of Minnesota’s football team

I stayed at the Hilton Fukuoka Sea Hawk (then known as the JAL Resort Sea Hawk Hotel Fukuoka) the hotel next to the stadium) in Fukuoka in Nov 2007. My room was facing the stadium (then known as Fukuoka Yahoo! JAPAN Dome) on the 16th floor. Nice view.

Very good video, man. The NPB catches my attention, even though I'm from Mexico, and I can only follow it through the Highlights. I hope you can make a video of the stadiums of the Mexican Baseball League teams where they will play in this year 2022, please
🙏🏽😇

Excellent mate. Music was amazing. Would you please do one for Major League Rugby stadiums in US and Canada? 🇺🇸🇨🇦🏉

Seibu's dome is just an add-on. The ballpark was originally roofless and open. The turf areas instead of bench seating in the bleachers is because it's designed as a picnic area meets family-friendly mixed with the hardcore crazies zone. You see this grass/turb berm type "seating" in many minor league ballparks in the US and used to in some MLB spring training stadiums.

Maybe considering a video about Baseball stadiums in South Korea?

0:1:34 that's basically the exact same roof they had for the Vikings and Twins

I imagine the biggest problem with the old Yakult Swallows stadium is that so much of the seating is in the outfield which is generally considered less idea than seating along the foul lines.

Most of the stadiums would be short porches in the United States, the domed stadiums host a lot of wrestling matches and SUMO tournaments.
Baseball is huge in Japan, on most nights you can find a bunch of games on TV, along with Sumo matches. There are amusement park everywhere in Japan.
