3D Scanning from video with Reality Capture

When I make videos about 3D scanning with photogrammetry people often ask if they can shoot video and take frames out of this. While i still don't think this is the best method Reality Capture does now accept video for input. So this is a quick demonstration of that.

To be clear, I was given a 3 month license of Reality Capture in order to make this video.

BUT try a car, boat, or plane. That stump has millions of unique points, vary easy for the software to track and recreate.

Is there a limit to the number of images for input? I have 3, 000, but it seems to crash even below 1000 or so.

Still think this technology needs work. Keep trying to find a good source for taking 3d models from recorded games and making a 3d model of them using scanware
