Amazing. Now I need to convince my friend that he should make himself a pegleg.
Though speaking as someone who's legs are different sizes, I would definitely recommend attaching more wood to the bottom of the pegleg so it's the right height. Walking unevenly like that is no bueno for your hip, and the damage accumulates.

Materials expert tip:
Get yourself a piece of leather that covers the bottom, preferably a thick grain. Mask and spray the bottom of the table leg and the unfinished grain side of the leather (shouldn't need to mask the leather) cutoff with super 77. LET THE ADHESIVE BREATHE. The can has specific instructions on how long to leave the adhesive before sticking the material (leather) to the substrate (table leg). You want a permanent bond so coat both thoroughly. Once they're allowed to set for the specified time, stick both together and if you can clamp or apply weight while the adhesive sets, again, for the specified time on the can.
Once that's done, trim the leather and you basically have the kind of material bond shoes are <made of>. Sorry for the extended explanation, just stupid scout knowledge. Hope it helps.
