Pruning a Jolly Tiger variegated fig tree

Jolly Tiger is a variegated fig tree. New growth can revert back to non variegated and needs to be pruned back to maintain a variegated tree.

I have a normal fig tree out front that occasionally produces variegated leaves on little random branches during spring growth. I would suspect this is a normal thing for big trees and only happens by chance.

I purchased 2 of these from Barry Yinger formerly of Asiatica Nursery in 2009. They were unreliable growers and both reverted to green within two years. They are beuatiful but expensive and with no guarantees.

The jolly tiger is a panache fig. Its the varuiegated form and yes your tree will have variegated fig fruit.

I am so sick of them and or people changing the original names on these figs. There are people out there changing the names to suit them for their glory and profit and had no contribution in finding them or cultivating them.
