Alec Wilder (b. 1907 d. 1980) was one of the first composers to write for the tuba seriously and largely for the legendary Harvey Phillips. As well as the eponymous "Effie Suite" (and it's several sequals) he wrote a sonata and a concerto and these delightful "Ten Tiny Trios" although I know virtually nothing about the circumstances in which they were composed as I haven't been able to find anything about them on the net or on YouTube which is why I have had the audacity to post this multi-tracked performance created during lockdown. Its not great but its better than nothing.

Thank you so much. I real enjoyed your performance. I have been playing this trio for 15 years but have never heard a full performance. I met Alex Wilder in 1980 at Harvey Phillips (my teacher) recital at Carnegie Hall.. I am 6' 4" and I had to look up at him when we shook hands. Thanks again.
