my son used his owlet for 11 months, no it never burned his foot. you need to be washing it once a week and changing it from left to right foot about twice a month. otherwise it can create a blister. but we never had that issue, we never had a false alarm with it or anything. i recommend it for sure. such great peace of mind especially once they move to their own room
