One thing I learned from my registry, I thought no one was going to buy the expensive things and those were all the things that got bought!

Omg #9 is so true! This is my husband and I first baby, this is the third grandchild on his side( my family is in another country) but we so far have gotten nothing from his family except on cousin. But I thank God other people who I hardly know has blessed us. Also don’t be shy to thrift your baby items.

I needed this! My MIL and SIL told me I don’t have enough cute things people will want to buy on my registry, and I’m over here trying to be a minimalist and only list things we absolutely need. I’m also trying to get some things second-hand to reduce waste, and a lot of stuff I think we need to try out before we commit to buying a full set of - baby bottles, pacifiers, diapers, wipes... If people don’t like anything on there, they can always just contribute to one of our cash funds or buy a gift card! Plus I know people will get things I didn’t list anyway, two already did… just hope they don’t forget to include the gift receipt! So now I privated a bunch of extra things and will possibly re-list them as key items get purchased, thanks!

Thank you for this video honey! Your information exactly what I was looking for! I’m a new mom at 43 years old and I don’t know none about no baby registry or how they work LOL so I came on here to find information and your information was 100% accurate what I was looking for love it!

Another mistake I wish I avoided: expecting everyone to know how to find and navigate an online registry. We registered through Babylist, which I LOVED because it allowed me to add items from amazon, target, WHEREVER and babylist kept track of it and even found the best prices online for people. But when I had my shower, I was disappointed to see that barely anyone bought off the registry and instead almost everyone bought her clothes, especially size 0-3month. We ended up with almost 60 0-3 month outfits!! If I could reverse time I would have added a little card or something to the invitation listing off how to type in the web address, where to type in our names, etc. Or I guess just gone old school and picked physical stores.

So, anyone reading who is planning a baby shower, please learn from my mistake. People go ham buying cute little baby girl clothes.

And side note to anyone else reading - gift receipts are often overlooked but incredibly appreciated. <3

If u have any box/package of diapers that are unopened target/Walmart will let u exchange for a different size as long as they hold that brand !
