Unfortunately this isn’t the norm there. Most Chinese parents like Americans prioritize being book smart. This looks like a Montessori school or compared to something like that in the states. Most things coming out of china is propaganda and made to seem like their culture is far better or more progressive.

They are setting those kids up for life. Teach young to be accountable and independent. This is why Americas youth in the 80s and 90s was better than they are today. I was cooking supper by myself and babysitting my little sister at home by 12. I grew up in my mamaws kitchen. I did chores. She had me grocery shopping and running in to pay the bills. Love that she did that for me.

My 3 year old knows how to load my washer with clothing, turn it on and select the setting and hit start. 😂 she loves to help mommy, so I let her with guidance of course, cause she is 3 and well tide pods are dangerous if swallowed, i am amazed with her ability at picking up tasks, her older brother not great with laundry, lol, however when i am doing yard work he is all in and weeds with me and helps plant every chance he gets, he loves to help me cook, cuts my veggies up and helps me prep. I am very leary with my 3 year old in kitchen cause she is very excited, her older brother had/has a calm method to it with hyper focus, its funny to see which chores my kid florish with and which ones they struggle with, i do my best and try to keep patience...

Kids love to help cooking in the kitchen.I have never met a child that didn't like helping and they always do well.

Especially since the end of WWII, generation after generation in the US has been taught not only to be more helpless, but to prefer it is a higher status. (SO WEIRD !!)
Parents are actually "proud" that they do *everything* for their kids. 🤢😑 "Goodbye" self-esteem & resilience... "hello" anti-anxiety & antidepressants.

I've been teaching my kids to really COOK since preschool.
My son who's 13 made our neighbors are baked ziti with homemade butter garlic cheesy bread, & a garden salad on the side the other night.
