Renowned filmmaker Christopher Nolan is set to bring Homer's classic epic to the big screen with his upcoming project, The Odyssey. Scheduled for release on July 17, 2026, the film promises to deliver a "mythic action epic" that reimagines the ancient tale for modern audiences.

Leading the cast is Matt Damon, portraying the legendary hero Odysseus. This marks Damon's third collaboration with Nolan, following their work on Interstellar and Oppenheimer. Only prob i have as a Greek from western depictions of Greek stories or history, is that its Not Eastern Enough!! Greece isnt the UK or Germany or France. The culture music art everything is more similar to Persia than the rest of Europe. And has been like this for 3000 years +++. Greece is the birthplace of Europe yet doesn't resemble Europe in almost any way.

Now that Matt Damon is confirmed to perform as Odysseus, I think I have an idea which characters the rest of the cast will portray.

Tom Holland as Telemachus, Odysseus’ son

Anne Hathaway as the Goddess, Athena, who aids Odysseus and Telemachus on occasion.

Zendaya as the witch goddess, Circe, who seduces Odysseus after she turned his men into animals (based on rumors that she’ll have limited screen time. Plus, she gave a steamy performance in Challengers.)

Lupita Nyong’o as Calypso, the nymph who tries to keep Odysseus for herself.

Robert Pattinson as Eurymachus, the lead suitor who lusts for Penelope and Odysseus’ kingdom.

Charlize Theron as Penelope, Odysseus’ long beloved wife.
