When 'The Archandroid' album was released back in 2010, I was simply intrigued. Such mesmerising sounds and stories that at first I felt inclined to sit back and let Janelle Monáe paint this wonderful landscape for me to enjoy from afar. As time passed I tentatively allowed myself to take a step at a time gravitating towards this magical world that she had created and eventually I started to paint my own journey within.

With stage performances, I see a fine veil between the performers and the audience, allowing the magic to gently seep through. I feel sharing my story here in the description of the piece could possibly sway your imagination and taint the magic by imprinting my thoughts into your own. I'd rather your imagination be free of any whispers and hope by allowing you this space, the magic is more widely shared and the piece is more enjoyable as a result.

I must thank Stephen Aspinall, one of the most incredible movers and creators i know, Shannelle Fergus with whom from one glance can set your heart on fire and Carrie-Anne Ingrouille who has and will always be such an inspiring figure in my life. Without these three this piece wouldn't have been possible.
Lastly, I would like to one day have the privilege in person (",) but for now i'll write it here, thank you Janelle Monáe for this phenomenal piece of art that continues to breathe new life into my own.
