I think they have a second meaning. In all of ballistics dialogues he sounds like he’s constantly stuck in his glory days like a boomer who can’t accept that things around them have changed from when they were young. That’s referred to as seeing the world through rose tinted glasses which makes me think ballistic is also supposed to be a pastiche of that adage wearing his rose tint glasses constantly harking about when he was so great and famous and how everyone knows and respects him as a gunman
