In the video, we look at the three key areas that Jay identifies as key to this process - Letting Go, Growing and Giving - and why, in our hectic modern world, it is more important than ever to find ways of managing our thoughts to reduce stress, improve focus, and offer our service to the world.

Sorry for being ignorant, but how can someone be a former monk? Isn't being a monk kind of...permanent? Like, with vows and such?

By the way, in order to practice these things in a more profound way, I would recommend starting to meditate. Look at it like going to the gym. You build the muscles of your prefrontal cortex, which is a crucial part of our brains!)

Today I just received this remarkable and amazing book. I have read through many page’s, what is more I think I am addicted to this. I knew it that I will gain knowledge of the best lessons of my life from this amazing book ever. Since, I already have learned the greatest lesson of my life from Jay Shetty Sir. Because of this book I come to know plenty of thing my passion, commitment and the most significant is patience. And I am confident that I will learn more by this book. Thank so much for writing this book to all of us and educating us best lessons of our life. You don’t have to be a monk to think like a monk. Well, this book clarifies us a lot .When you think like a monk you’ll understand .How to prevent overthinking, How to overcome fear, how to overcome negativity, how to learn from each and every person you meet, why compassion and gentleness is vital to success and much more. It feels amazing to take a short moment out of my busy life to spend it on studying on how to be a improved version of ourself, and hopefully by this, create a healthier life for ourselves. I highly recommend this book to someone who ever has self-doubt & feels lost. if u want to buy the book from amazon buy this from that link

Fact : monk may be a person who decides to dedicate his life to serving all other living beings, or to be an ascetic who voluntarily chooses to leave mainstream society and live his or her life in prayer and contemplation. The concept is ancient and can be seen in many religions and in philosophy.

Jay Shetty, Thanks for sharing the wisdom which may take many years to even know. Leave aside mastering it. Thanks Ali for kind words and good job in summarising.

The ego thing resonates with me. I am so overly critical of my flaws and I'm sporadically smug about my achievements. It's too often on the critical side which can be damaging.

Lots of wisdom to be gained from Jay Shetty - the guy who stole quotes and passed them off as his own.

The detachment Quote is from Ali r.a. Jay mentioned it in the book it's from the prophet peace be upon him cousin Ali r.a.
"Detachment is not that you should own nothing, but that nothing should own you". Ali ibin abi talib ... Awesome quote
