Sometimes you just need a new table with a few rows or columns to be added to your data model. One option to create that table is to use the Enter Data option in Power BI Desktop. In this article, I’ll explain how you can use it, and also; more important: How to edit the data of that table after creating it.

I think you can have users edit a table if you use ODBC.

Thank you for this. Always very well presented.

Curious if you have a recommendation for a specific challenge I'm trying to resolve. Really just looking for the best methodology to use, not necessarily detailed instructions. I have a query folder, where I add monthly datasets in CSV format. In power query, I have a sample file being one of the monthlies. Currently, all CSV's have the same structure, of course. I'd like to add new fields (not newly created but rather fields that currently exist in the source data files that were previously excluded from import).

Can I use the methodology provided in your tutorial to manually add the new columns to the PQ sample file before loading new CSVs (all of which would contain the new fields) or do you suggest another method? Just looking for the easiest and best way to add new fields to the existing model without creating major hassle and errors.
