The Jarmels were a doo wop R&B group who had a 1961 charting hit with this song. It made it to Number 12.
In 1960, they got a break meeting Ben E. King, who invited the group to New York.
They met with the Laurie Recording Company and became the first African American group signed to their record company.
Just a great tune, with wonderful lyrics, instruments and vocals. Nice memories.

Love doo-wop. As a kid I listened to these records. one of the first concerts I went to was Sha-na-na in the 70's beck when they were at their peak and they had their own tv show. I had their 8 tracks in my old GTO.

I was at Laurie Records studio when they recorded it. I was 17. Where the hell did it all go? Very underrated vocal group, but never by me.
