Merger Era - 25th Moveset
Luxo Jr. has been known to explore the world around, chasing after bouncing balls and looking up to his father among other things, enjoying every minute of his playtime. This normal life would soon be interrupted when Luxo accidentally jumped onto a button which would lead him to the Ghost Planet studio and a path to a fighting competition, one unlike anything he had ever seen. Now, he brings his fun and games to the competition of Lawl….

Well, this marks the halfway point of getting the last OG Lawl Zero roster characters done, and this one was an interesting one to work on mainly due to utilizing Pixar's early shorts (and a couple of their other early works) as the main inspiration for Luxo's moves. Plus, this means that the rival for one of the most popular characters on the roster finally has his proper dues in terms of a moveset, and a formidable one at that!

Shout-outs:
@TheScentOfPlums - for animation on the Side B and Final Smash segments, as well as refining a few character animations

This was the perfect way to end a day of movesets- Luxo Jr. was such a delight to watch, and all his concepts are really fun! I also personally think him and Nick interacting was really wholesome. TSLZ has been KILLING it lately, absolutely cannot wait for the anniversary special!

This may be my new favourite moveset in TSLZ. Everything about about it felt right at home, from the moveset music, the fashionably late entrance and so much more.
He may have a simplistic moveset you'd expect in an actual Smash Bros but everything about it was executed perfectly, especially for light little lamp like Luxo.

The wait did not disappoint, fantastic job on the set and looking forward to the Anniversary special!

This is probably one of my favorite movesets from you guys. I was intrigued on how Luxo would play out, and you really nailed him. Neutral Special was a great zoning tool, and a good reference to his debut short, Side was a great move for representing other Pixar shorts (Yes, I actually remember watching the short Red is from), Up and Down had great multiple uses, and featured stuff from Luxo’s other appearances.
While I had expected Luxo’s final smash to be the infamous I stomp, that creepy Tin Toy baby was actually a pretty good choice as well. Luxo’s taunts, victories, and other attacks were all fun as well. (Also, Skeletor’s quote really summarizes Pixar as a whole) .

In terms of future plans, I’m hyped for Mermaid Man and Barnacle Boy’s movesets (given how they’ve waited a long time now) and The Anniversary Special (which I can already tell will be both fun and epic). As usual, you and Miro keep up the good work you’ve done for this amazing Lawl, and have an awesome day.

Also, two questions I have: Will you showcase more options for Bluster’s Down B? And how many characters do you see having/making before you choose and end date for this Lawl? The latter I’ve asked a few Lawlers before, as I’m very curious about your response.

Nearly forgot to leave a comment, and that would've been a sin cause this is easily my favorite moveset from this Lawl now. Its simple, yes, but thats what Luxo is. This is one of those videos i get a cozy feeling from. Absolutely stellar. Its such a perfect implementation of everything classic Pixar.

Luxo was a pretty cool moveset overall! This was always a very intriguing character from this roster so I am happy to see him get a moveset at last. Neutral B was my favorite move, with the different balls being a pretty cool addition (reminded me of Glover on the N64 heh), and the fact that you guys referenced other pre-Toy Story Pixar shorts like Tin Toy and Red's Dream as well as the Sesame Street sketches truly made this moveset feel more complete. Animation-wise I also liked this a lot, with Luxo having as much personality here as in the short.

Only real issue I had was Down B, which doesn't seem to be a very useful move. Getting a wall/platform does have some neat uses but the move simply feels like a different take on the vanilla shield. Perhaps you could push the box around or pick it up and throw it like you can with Snake's box to give Luxo some more zoning potential. Other than that this moveset was excellent, and I'm glad that thanks to it I now know that Luxo Jr's OST is available online

I think this might be my new fave moveset from TSLZ. Coming from someone who's a big fan of the classic Luxo and Pixar shorts, and from someone who was curious to see how this set would work, this did not disappoint me. ;)

I think I might just have a new favorite for TSLZ once again! As someone who really enjoys Pixar, I was incredibly interested in how a moveset for Luxo Jr. would work, and I must say, this pleasantly surprised me!
Neutral Special is well chosen for that placement, and it does it’s intended role very well. I like all the possibilities and trajectories that can be used to make it a primary zoning tool. Side Special completely took me by happy surprise, as allowing little Luxo to rep other Pixar shorts is really fitting since he debuted in one, and it fits well as a keep-away movement option. I also think Up Special is a great call, and it looks fun and funny to see in the battlefield. And Down Special is yet another great way of letting Luxo Jr. fulfill his intended playstyle with a versatile attack option that references its appearances I’ve never seen!
And of course, Pixar’s terrifying first attempt at a non-object CG creation as a heavy-hitting, yet simple Final Smash topped off the attacks really well. And this was complemented with great animation across every scene, including the Ko’s, Taunts, and really charming victories that I enjoyed alongside everything else. Great job on this set for the Pixar OG, and I’m super hyped for everything that’s upcoming! Good luck!
(And that trailer was really well made!)

I was curious as to how this lamp was going to work, as I only know him(?) for the famous Pixar movie intro. Had no idea he had other shorts as well. Regardless, I enjoyed this moveset. I didn't expect the baby from Tin Toy to be the Final Smash, but I liked the concept behind him. All in all, this seemed like a nice love letter to the early days of Pixar. Can't wait for Mermaid Man & Barnacle Boy.

Also, that trailer was so sick. I also saw someone from MHA in it.

I got to give you two props, ever since The Sheriff of Nottingham your animations have had one hell of a glow up in my opinion. Especially with some arguably hard to animate ones like The Sheriff and in this one with Luxo Jr.

The Moveset itself was good as well! I feel like sometimes you guys overcomplicate your mechanics and this was nice and simple to grasp (Although two separate special moves with ball projectiles was strange, although perhaps a nitpick on my part). I appreciate the references to the Pixar Shorts, especially the Tin Toy Baby in the Final Smash. I'm hoping you showcase more of those shorts in Luxos standards. It'd be especially great to have an appearance from Gerti the chess playing old man. (Also I was today years old when I learned Luxo was on Sesame Street and several times no less)

Excited to see your future projects, and my interest is peaked with that Beatles stage.

Also, great work on this moveset!

This moveset is amazing, it’s surprising that we got our first Pixar mascot rep in a lawl team, and I gotta say, this moveset is amazing, good job Hammer Man.
