My favorite thing about this encounter was coming back during NG+ and realizing the intro cutscene foreshadows Geppetto’s plan at the end of the game.

The worse part is how Romeo looks confused when Carlo first slaps his hand away, and after his face turns angry, he does that little sorrow cry, making it all clear to how he actually expected his friend to go on his side

The thing that sucks is that the King thinks that this will sway P. Even though as the players we most likely recognize what he’s trying to show us about Gepetto, P doesn’t. He rejects the Kings gesture which saddens Romeo. He’s trying to show his friend the truth

Oh my god. It took me reaching the end of the game to realize. Romeo was warning us of what Gepetto plans to do. This game is tight.

Wish there was a way you could befriend the puppet king and help him to take down the alchemists, would’ve been an amazing story change for NG+

spoilers ahead : when you slowly start realizing as you progress through the story that Romeo was Carlo’s friend the human who pinocchio has the body (Gepetto’s dead son)and Carlo and Romeo were friends in the Monad Orphanage and Romeo tried to help him before he died of the Petrification Disease, but knowing full well that Gepetto sent Pinocchio to kill the best friend of his son, Romeo tried to warn Pinocchio but he failed so he thought he was a threat, he did discovered that Gepetto was behind the Puppet Frenzy but it was too late to realize that Romeo actually wanted to help and stop the Puppet Frenzy, this theme represents the whole idea of Romeo trying to save Krat yet ….. it came to this

This scene is so tragic, and it forces us to go along with it, even if we know this is our best friend.... just like a puppet on a string

This is probably the most saddest thing in this game (besides another incident later on in the game)

After I found out the truth of easy happened fully with geppeto causing the frenzy and the fact the king was just trying to warn us and have us work with him to stop the frenzy only for us to seemingly reject his offer for likely loyalty to geppeto but in reality it’s just that P never remembered him. I will admit, I originally wore the kings garb as a joke but once I figured that out I kept the suit on as a sign of respect for the king and when the other event happened before the final boss, it just solidified my playthrough as P of carrying all the poor souls I hurt with me to end the nightmare for good (cheesy I know but I unintentionally just did that on my first playthrough)

When I first saw his play, I thought he was showing my creation. A man giving life to a puppet with the ergo of his son. A king trying to show me that as a puppet I am still a subject to him
But the second run, I saw myself as a means to an end to complete a broken husk. A friend warning me of my true purpose
The music doesn't help the feeling of having a heart ripped from your chest

Such tragedy and anguish the intro came across to me as telling a message to you. And the transition scene came across to me as a look of pleading this boss fight is so intriguing.

Most depressing part in the game.. your best friend who knows you will be there for him gets betrayed unknowingly at the one point where he needs you the most

Although lies of p music didn’t really satisfy me as much as fromsoftware’s ones, but this—this hits the same feels as that from a fromsoftware game. Heavily underrated ost in my opinion
