How to install basal anchors for Stationary Rope Systems. I demonstrate different options for basal anchors, including hard tie-offs and a variety of lowerable or "rescue-ready" systems.

Can't go past the trusty ol Blake's hitch.

Great video thank you.

Just found your channel & am realizing quickly that you make good videos with high quality information. Well done! When I climb on a basal anchor, I use the same no gear system that you show at the end of the video, but I don’t use the slip knot as a stopper. In personal testing of the recovery of an injured climber I found it extremely difficult to remove the stopper knot when it is jammed into the base of the Blake’s hitch. Replacing it with a sideways slippery sheet bend made with the end of the tail (make the tail about 2ft long beyond the figure 8 knot) was much easier to remove.

Thanks again for all the effort & knowledge you put into your videos!

The most important thing in this is to tie a stoper knot at the end of the line and make sure that is enough slack to lower the climber.

How do you tie an alpine butterfly knot? You go so fast I cannot see what you are doing. Not all of us are pro, s. Thank you kindly.

Everything about this video is nice except one minor thing.... camera was set back too far to see anything you were trying to show us. As an inexperienced climber it would have been nice to have a closer view. Otherwise good job at explaining things and the sound quality was good.
