If the new stock coolers for this are called Wraith, then this old one must have been called Banshee.

Thanks for this I was looking all over for how good the hyper 212 was since it's price/performance ratio was too got to be true, but now I see this is probably the best value cooler on the market

Great video, I´m from Peru, Southamerica, i bought 5 years ago an AMD Phenom II x6 1055T, after half year, it started to sound really really loud, exactly like your fan, finally I decided to change it, someone told me to buy this but I didn´t know if it´s really worth it, but after see and hear the difference between the fans, i will definitly buy Hyper 212 EVO, Thanks for your video and sorry for my English.

I'm currently rendering a video using my new computer with an 8350 and the stock cooler, and the noise is enough to drive me up a wall! I'll be picking up a 212 evo soon, because I'm not sure how much more of this I can take. Thanks for posting this!

Huge THX. I just bought and connected new Cooler Master Hyper 212 EVO to the processor and now on full performance I have just maximum 42 degrees. Now I can peacefully work on 3D graphics in blender without any annoying noise. That was exactly what I was looking for.

I have two different systems running a FX-8350 with stock fan and heat sink in each, one's loud and the other generally isn't. Both installed on same type of motherboard, same GPU in each. Running similar HDD setups and both on same OS. Both came with thermal paste pre-spread on the heat sink. I'm very tempted to pick up a better HS especially after seeing your temp, fan speeds, and hearing the difference in your video.

I just installed this fan system on my AMD 8350 FX Black Edition CPU.  Wow, it makes a heck of a difference compared to the stock fan.  Hardest part is when you see all the parts that come in the box with the fan unit.  Separate them, Intel from AMD and you will see that the AMD setup uses less parts (I think).  You can also add another fan to the cooler and have it "pull" or "push" with the air flow of the first fan.  This is a fantastic cooling fan for the price.  One thing I have to make note of is the "scissor" assembly has three "hole" positions for each of the four mounting screws.  You have to set the screw to the appropriate hole or "slot" on the scissor assembly to match the CPU studs on the mother board.  Took me about an hour to install this fan since I had to take the motherboard out of the computer to install it.   Currently my CPU temperature is 28C sitting there with minimal load compared to 35C with the stock CPU fan.  Got it for $30 delivered online.

TYVM Sherief, I've the same issue with my FX-8350 BE stock fan. I was looking for this video to see the difference, and the noise reduction is way lower than I would imagine. I'm buying the hyper 212x ASAP.

Great video! Thanks for sharing your findings. Very useful. Keep in mind that air flow only works if you keep you computer case closed. Intake should be bottom and front or sides.

I have this same problem with the 8350... your video was the final confirmation I needed to buy this fan... Thanks!

Man I am so happy I came across your video, currently going through this issue with my stock fan. It has been fine until the time I'm posting this. I just bought a hyper 212 evo and I'm so pumped to see this! And I enjoy having the 8350 :)
