This is my favourite nocturne of Chopin’s. So few seem to really give it the appreciation it deserves. It conveys such sadness and defeat that not many other pieces of Chopin’s truly capture.

My god. Chopin's music is pure magic. I myself have been learning prelude no.4 for some time and i just can not resist tears sometime, when remember my passed away dad and aunt. This nocturne is one of the most viscerally emotional pieces of music I have ever heard. You can hear the twinges of hysteria in it, almost like it's diseased. It feels raw and unrefined as well, and really feels as if Chopin was lashing out at the universe when he composed it (he was seventeen and his little sister had died, for those of you who don't know)
