nova 24 also has easy positioning and all the features you have on the bolt are on all nova series, you just need to know where to find them, speed, power can all be changes on the fly, changes are made when the controller detect the next node group, so changes are not instantaneous, but start on the next node group, you dont need to remove the lens from nozzle in the 24 to clean it

Thank you Katie! I contacted Thunder specifically for the Bolt, but the rep brought up the Nova 24. She said that if I plan to cut anything bigger than 1/8” that I might want to consider the Nova. I didn’t really want a bigger machine as I don’t have the space. This would be my first laser machine and I’m just looking at this for a hobby, maybe a future small business.

My goal was acrylic signs, clear acrylic standees/keychains, etc. Maybe engraving tumblers. I don’t see myself really cutting anything thicker than 1/4”. Do you think the Bolt will satisfy my needs for a first machine? Do you think there will be any situations that I’ll have regrets not getting the Nova?

I just don’t want “too much” machine for my needs. Haha.

Nice overview, but I think you are mistaken about the front door having magnets. Other reviewers have mentioned that it has clips that snap into place when the door is closed, and one even complained that they make opening and closing the door a little bit difficult. In your video it looks like yours has the clips as well.

Thanks Katie. Very helpful observations. I just ordered mine. What's been you overall experience with cutting? Types, thickness, etc. I'm not looking for the to be s speed demon cutting beast. Just one that does struggle when I do cut. It's not for business, mainly for hobby if that further adds some perspective. Thanks again.

nova 24 has autofocus, just press down button the press autofocus button and its done, you have to set the nozzle correctly first,
