WWE 2K20 Universe Mode: Full Details On All The New Updates Plus Screenshots!

WWE games today revealed all of the updates coming to Universe Mode in WWE 2K20 which include brand new cutscenes, new match options and 50 female centric cutscenes!

You can find a full list of all the new Universe Mode features below:

● Major and minor show match limits have increased from 7 to 9.
● Pay-Per-View match limits have doubled from 7 to 14.
● The number of championship titles per major show has increased from 6 to 7.
● Simultaneous rivalries on major shows have increased from 3 to 4.
● Pay-Per-Views can be co-hosted by up to 3 major shows versus the previous 2.
● Players have more freedom to delete and add promos and matches.
● 50 of the most-used cutscenes have been reshot with female mocap actors to look more authentic when female Superstars are used.
● 25 new cutscenes have been added.
● 3,040 new promo lines are in the game.
● Custom Matches can now be included in Match Tables, along with new Mixed Tag Matches.
● New Championship Match setting in Match Tables can be used to make certain matches a title match.
● Main Event matches in Match Tables have been tweaked so that those match types are more likely to occur on the show (Example: Royal Rumble match at the Royal Rumble Pay-Per-View).
● New rivalry content includes options such as low-intensity enemies making peace after a single Pay-Per-View or low to mid-intensity allies slowly falling out over several weeks instead of a sudden turn.
● The overall menu flow has been streamlined to make it more accessible to those new to Universe Mode. All deeper options are still available for experienced players.

Still can’t play tournaments in universe mode I want have king of ring in universe mode

Can we just not have the same cutscenes every rivalry? (Rival coming out and sitting at ringside, Same attack scene before matches etc.) it just kills universe for me. Just feels like I’m playing the same feuds with different character models.

25 new cut scenes and I bet I’ll still see the handshake cut scene 57 times a show after every match.

There was a problem in 2k19 promos where after someone won a title the opponent that lost it says that they won it and vice versa

SO happy they've introduced more matches allowed on PPVs. It got really annoying only being allowed 7.

So still no gm mode like rating aka show ranking and fan ranking to make it feel like there's truly a split.

No draft option or superstar shakeup option

Didnt bring back create a promo option which would have given universe mode a more genuine creative feel to it. Instead we'll have the same bullcrsp like when you call someone out then act like you dont know why they're out there.

No updated injury system to make it feel like injuries actually matter.

This is 2k last year and I can see why they only care about money and not the fans

Hmm sounds like I might have to delete the MITB PPV again this year. In 2K19 MITB cash in was a joke, it was treated as a new match, champions health was fully restored, and the champion always defended. Cashing in post match meant absolutely nothing. So disappointed not to hear of any MITB updates.


Still some decent news, allow us to put our custom matches in match cards was a big feature missing in 2K19. Expanded title and match slots are good as well and holy hell, finally women have female cutscenes. I hope we get more verity in cutscenes as 2K19 tend to reuse the same 5 cutscenes over and over and over.


Pretty neat we have so many new promo lines. I hope they increased the timer, or even made it to where we need to manually select a button for the promo to progress. One of the reasons I don't really use the promo system is the limited time we have to choose a option.
