The future of multilateralism

The goal of the even is to analyze the role of the organizations that have ruled the world since the end of World War II (UN, UNESCO, WHO, WTO...), their difficulties in adapting to a changing world, including its democratic functioning, and the increasing importance of regional organizations such as the EU, NATO or the African Union.

The event will be held in English and will be chaired by Miquel Royo, Director General for Global Affairs at the Catalan Government. The session will be closed by Laura Foraster, Secretary General of DIPLOCAT.

Confirmed speakers:

Pol Bargués-Pedreny, Research Fellow at CIDOB (Barcelona Centre for International Affairs), who will provide the point of view of a Catalan think tank.
Vassilis Ntousas, Senior International Relations Policy Advisor at the Foundation for European Progressive Studies and Academy Associate at Chatham House, who will provide a European point of view.
Maria Àngels Oliva, Deputy Division Chief at FMI, who will provide the vision of a Catalan person working with an international organization.
