Ok at the end you used Texas potential insurance rates... but holy crap California? It costs $3315 for a year of premiums from Tesla insurance? TF!? Or more to the point... Mercury insurance cost $7625 a YEAR?! WTF!? I have Mercury insurance, with two Toyotas, and I pay less insurance (and no it's not minimum) than the lowest rate on the California price list for a single Tesla.

Oh insurance is also such a freaking scam. In 30 years of driving, I've had to use it once on a case that was my fault, and that may have cost a single year worth of premiums at most, non-injury. Meanwhile I've paid 30x that amount out of my pocket over time. All because the cost to repair cars are relatively cheap... until you get to the Godfather of all scams... medical insurance, and they sure as f*** are going to charge you (your insurance) the absolute most amount of money possible

By the time Tesla is making 20 million vehicles per year, there will be around 50 million Teslas on the road. 50 million times $1, 795 is almost 90 Billion dollars per year! This would be in the best case scenario but your estimate of 36 billion dollars per year is overly bearish.

Making their vehicles so reliable? I am model y owner, love the car. Absolutely love it, though I have been 4 times in the service center in 4 months Last time all self driving and most importantly ALL security features were disabled all of the suddenly while on the highway. I contacted Tesla, it turned out front tires were misaligned. In my first 2000 miles in the car, and yes I might have hit a pothole or two, but nothing beyond any other car I owed or Anything resembling off-road. So, car tires got misaligned and Tesla decided on its infinite wisdom that disabling all security features was a good idea. I got a service appointment two weeks later! Nothing earlier, tires were aligned and everything back to normal 136 usd after. Cars are amazing, but quality control is laughable. Anyone talking otherwise is simply and bluntly LYING.

I have very high coverage limits and my insurance on my tesla is under 850/year with Farm Bureau NC.

Love my Tesla insurance that I have had for last year. And yes, I saved 20% over USAA which is great. If I get in an accident, I can be assured it will be fixed properly. Plus I am an extra safe driver and that will help my rates in the future. Rates went down for the second year upcoming. Love TESLA.
