I think we all intend to read the books we haul at one point or another. Sometimes it just takes awhile to get to them. And then once too much time passes, I think it's only natural to lose interest in one or two, and then end up never reading them. It happens. It's fine. I don't think it's an issue. Reading is supposed to be fun. If you want to read a book then read it. If you don't, then don't. I think it's as simple as that.

I've talked about this on my channel months ago and I'll say it here: It's no one's fucking business what we buy with our own money. If we buy 5 or 50 books a month no one has the right to tell us we are wrong or what we're doing makes us less of a reader. I swear people think just because we open up our lives a bit on youtube that it means they have a place to tell us what to fucking do. Get a grip, get a life, get over it. :) Great video Peter!

I'm not angered by this "problem" but it just surprises me by the amount of books that fellow BookTubers buy. Just imagine their piles of unread books....that is so daunting to me. I would be so intimidated by the pile I would go crazy trying to figure out what to read next.

I love book hauls, who cares if they don't read the books. I think it's nobody's business if they don't get to it right away or ever. your videos make me smile thanks!

How many things can we say we do this with? Shit I do it with makeup, books, video games, clothes....etc. Not constantly but you know what i mean! ;) We get excited about something ....grab it and it brings us joy and the idea is to eventually use whatever item. I know I've always got a TBR list....and not on purpose...this is before I discovered all these great Booktubers recommending more things to make me want even more books. It just hasn't ever bothered me because I'll eventually get to reading them. But even if I didn't....who cares, sometimes your mood or interests changes and you're just not feeling it! And what you said about reading less and less of a book before deciding to move on. OMG, I noticed that I do that too...as I get older I give it less time before I move to something I'm into more. I told my BF as I get older, I realized my time feels more precious and I don't want to waste it on bad books....haha

This was great, love the way you use sarcasm to really get the point across! I continue to buy books when I can, and I personally like having a large selection to choose from. If I buy a book, that's potential sitting on my shelf. Maybe I read a book right away, or maybe I don't get to a book for a couple years, but then when I'm in the mood for that type of book, it's right there when I want to read it! I like having options, basically. I don't see why there's so much stress/pressure to read constantly or read a book immediately. And everyone reads differently, at a different pace, and attempting to police other people's reading habits is... quite odd if you think about it. Great video =)

you are the best XD I'm cracking up. After this heartbreaking weekend, thank you for the good laugh <3 Really though, who in the hell pays attention to what people haul vs read??? I love book hauls for exactly the reason you said, because I'm introduced to many books I never would have found otherwise! PS cutest wedding picture ever!!!

Lmao, I would comment further, but I need to go buy some books!

I think the only time booktubers hauling books bugs me is when it's a sponsored video that they're being paid to talk about the books and it's a book they wouldn't have picked up on their own. (Not that there's anything wrong of course with discovering a book and picking it up though it's not something you'd read normally.) I guess something about so many of the same booktubers being paid to talk about the same book just begins to truly rub me the wrong way.

omg you're the best this was great!! personally for me, i LOVE watching book hauls bc 1) I like and want to see what other people got and why. 2) its a great way to find new books! 3) just realized I'm repeating the points you mentioned in the video but haha, 100 % AGREE!!
however, i was actually hesitant when other book tubers said they didn't want to film hauls because they didn't want to endorse into the fact that other people couldn't afford books, watch book hauls. but in the end i realize that its my channel and if i want to film a book haul, i'll do it!
soo funny xD!!

I love your videos, they brighten up my day whenever I watch them. I am wheelchair bound and to a degree most of the time housebound too. I order most of my books online, and I am fortunate enough to be able to afford to do this, and I have so many books that I have not yet read, but it is no one's right to have a moan about it. Keep up the good work Peter, love u and your videos 😃

Although I don't have a booktube channel, I do have a blog where I mainly talk about books. I started out with only blogging about books that I have read, but I have taken media classes about putting out regular content, so I have found that I began writing about books I have not yet read, just so I have something to talk about. Also, it is summer, and I find I am busy with stuff other than reading. Even before I learned about booktube, I bought books that sometimes took years before I actually read them. Now that I watch booktube videos more often, I get inspired to read more books, so I have found that I do buy more though it may take me a while to read them.

The sarcasm in this video was fabulous! I say each to their own on how they spend their money and/or choose to spend their time. I personally stick to about 20 or so books on my shelf that I haven't read, this is mostly due to the fact my partner would go nuts if I bought tons of books, but if I could afford it I would probably end up with hundreds on my TBR shelf that I aim on reading at some point (my wishlist is probably evidence of that - 600+ haha). As it is I still have some books on my TBR that I've had for years but still haven't read even with it being so small! Love the videos, keep up the great work! :)

Oh my word. You seriously never cease to CRACK ME UP :'D (I promise I'm not yelling at you with the caps hahahaha). I freaking love your videos. You make me want to start doing booktube again.

I laughed so much during this video. Honestly, I don't even pay attention if a book is ever read/reviewed after it is hauled on anyone's channel. I know I'm way behind on reading some of the books I've hauled on my channel. Not going to get too upset about it. Great video!

great vid! it comes down to people needing to mind their own business. i have books i bought 20 years ago i still haven't picked up, and i continue to buy others. why? i like having the opportunity to pick them up when i want to. it's called having options, and why i never got the whole concept of "tbr shame" either. the book i'm currently reading is one i picked up at a yard sale in college many moons ago. you just never know what you may be in the mood for or when.

You always make me laugh! So on point too. I don't understand why people care so much how other people spend their money and time. Yes, I intend to read all the books I buy...will I is another question, and the answer is probably not. I love book hauls because I end up learning about more books that I sometimes want to check out and sometimes end up reading. I've never given it thought really as to when or if they are going to read it, I just wanna hear about more books lol. I also love having books to choose from when deciding what to read next. ^_^

I think you touched on this a bit but the main reason I enjoy watching hauls is because I might hear of a book that I had no idea about that now interests me.
Buying a book supports the author and everyone else that helped make that book happen. We all know this.
Another reason I love hauls is because if I see someone haul a book I haven't read yet it is an opportunity to buddy read it with them.
Just because they haul it and we never hear them talk about it in a video again doesn't mean they didn't read it.
I used to think if I started a book I had to finish it. I mean I used to read entire books all the time. I had no concept of not finishing a book. However since I am reading much more than I used to I don't think that I should have to push myself through a book that I am not enjoying (like you said). Life is too short!
I still find it difficult finding a good page # or stopping point to DNF but as with anything else it depends. It's a work in progress as I am.
Hope you're having a lovely day. Love your channel, this video was hilarious!! (subbed)
