GUYS! In wicked when elphaba and glinda meet the wizard he explains that he wants to decommission the train and use a yellow brick road instead! when Dorothy came to oz the train was no longer in use/service.

I mean to be fair the kid did just (accidentally) kill her best friend's sister no matter how FURIOUS she was at Elphie stealing Fiyero, plus before she told the girl she was the witch of the North, Dorothy flat out implied that all witches are old and ugly. To her face. Not to mention Glinda has been Going Through It For Years.

no the wizard didnt make the yellow brick road yet (hence why they were picking the road color) and the wizard said instead of having the train he would make a road so whenever somebody needed to find him they could follow the road

EVERYONE THIS THEORY IS NOT CORRECT… the whole story of wizard is oz is her finding people along the way to have the wizard help them. If Dorothy just went on the train, she wouldn’t meet the scarecrow, tin man, or the lion. The writers wrote this for a reason.
